We had Christina shot both our maternity and newborn sessions. Both sessions, she was easy to communicate with, professional but also so friendly. She made it a very fun and comfortable environment to take photos and even included our puppy in both shoots. She shared sneak peeks very quickly followed by the whole gallery shortly thereafter. I generally recommend booking your maternity session for somewhere between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. By this stage, you'll usually have a lovely visible bump while still feeling comfortable enough to enjoy your session.
Every pregnancy is different, though, and we can always plan around how you're feeling. I'd recommend getting in touch during your second trimester to secure your preferred date.
Maternity sessions can take place outdoors or in the studio, depending on the look and feel you'd love for your photographs.
Outdoor sessions are usually scheduled around sunset for that beautiful, soft evening light. I'll help you choose a location that suits the photographs you have in mind, with options across the Hunter Valley, Maitland and Newcastle areas.
You don't need to go shopping for something special unless you'd like to!
You'll have access to my client wardrobe, which includes a selection of maternity dresses chosen for how beautifully they photograph. I can also help coordinate outfits for your partner and children if they're joining us.
Once you've booked, I'll send through a styling guide so we can plan everything together.
Absolutely! Your maternity session is about this chapter of your family's story, and I'd love to include the people sharing it with you.
We can photograph you on your own, with your partner, with your children, or a combination of all three. I'll guide everyone throughout the session, so there's no need to worry about posing.
If we've planned an outdoor maternity session and the weather isn't looking suitable, we'll keep an eye on the forecast and make a decision closer to the day. If the weather is just cloudy we will still go ahead.
If we need to reschedule, we'll work together to find another suitable date. I'd much rather wait for the right conditions than rush through a session in uncomfortable weather.
Of course! Once you've received your completed gallery, you'll have the opportunity to purchase additional photographs or upgrade your collection.
There's no need to make those decisions before your session. You can simply choose what you love once you've seen your photographs.
